1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Jantra mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
Jantra is a civic issue reporting platform that connects citizens with local government authorities to report and track the resolution of community issues.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use this App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. User Account
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Phone number verification is required for account creation and security
4. User Responsibilities
When using Jantra, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information when reporting civic issues
- Include relevant photos and location data to help authorities identify issues
- Not submit false, misleading, or fraudulent reports
- Not use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Not harass, abuse, or harm other users or government officials
- Not attempt to manipulate the verification or voting systems
5. Content Guidelines
All content submitted through the App must:
- Be relevant to civic issues, community improvement, or Lost & Found items
- Not contain offensive, inappropriate, or illegal content
- Not violate any intellectual property rights
- Not include personal information of others without consent
- Not list prohibited, stolen, or illegal items in Lost & Found
- Comply with all applicable local laws and regulations
6. Report Verification
Jantra uses a community verification system where other users can verify reported issues. This helps ensure the authenticity of reports. However:
- Verification does not guarantee government action
- False verifications may result in account suspension
- Government authorities make final decisions on issue resolution
7. Civic Points System
Users earn civic points for reporting issues, verifying reports, and contributing to the community. Points are for recognition purposes only and:
- Have no monetary value
- Cannot be transferred or exchanged
- May be adjusted or removed for policy violations
8. Lost & Found Service
Jantra provides a Lost & Found feature to help community members reunite lost items with their rightful owners. When using this service:
- You must provide accurate descriptions and photos of lost or found items
- You must not claim items that do not belong to you
- You must verify ownership before handing over found items
- You must not use this feature to sell or trade items
- You must report items promptly and honestly
- You are responsible for arranging safe meetups for item exchanges
Jantra is not responsible for the condition, value, or authenticity of items listed. We do not guarantee that lost items will be found or returned. All exchanges are conducted at your own risk.
9. Privacy and Data
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Intellectual Property
The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Jantra and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- The App will be available at all times
- Reports will result in government action
- Issues will be resolved within any specific timeframe
- All information provided by other users is accurate
12. Limitation of Liability
Jantra shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any).
13. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms of Service
- Submit false or misleading reports repeatedly
- Engage in abusive behavior toward other users
- Attempt to manipulate or exploit the platform
- Falsely claim items in Lost & Found that do not belong to you
- Use Lost & Found for commercial purposes or illegal activities
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Guwahati, Assam.
